Blueprint Gaming Releases The Naked Gun Slot Game
The Naked Gun Series
The Naked Gun is a three part series of American crime comedy films that were created by David Zucker, Jim Abrams and Jerry Zucker. All three films are based on a rather clueless police detective, who stumbles upon some serious criminal activity and spends the duration of the movie trying to gather evidence against the culprits and bring them to justice.
The first of the Naked Gun films, titled The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! was released on the 2nd of December 1988. The film featured fast- paced slapstick comedy, including many visual and verbal puns and gags. The film received critical acclaim right after it was released, and has since been regarded as one of the greatest comedy films of all time. In its opening weekend, the film finished in first place in the box office, grossing USD $9.3 million; in total the movie grossed USD $78.8 million at the box office.
The second installment of the film came a few years later in 1991. The sequel, which was titled The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear was released on the 28th of June 1991. The movie was met with mixed reviews from critics. It still placed as the 10th best film of the year in 1991 and raked in USD $86.9 million at the box office just from the domestic market.
The third and final installment of the series came three years later; it was called Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult. The movie was released on the 18th of March 1994 and also received mixed reviews from critics. It was the lowest grossing of the three films in the series, but still managed to grab the number one weekend box office title in the U.S. during its opening weekend. The film exceeded expectations and made a total of USD $51 million domestically.
In 2013, Paramount Pictures announced that they were going to reboot the series, however, it would feature more of a modern take of the classic concept.
The Naked Gun Slot Title
Following a licensing agreement with Paramount Pictures, the British online slots developer, Blueprint Gaming, released the Naked Gun online Slot game.
The Naked Gun Slot game is a 5 reel, 20 pay line slot title that comes with 4 different free spins rounds; all of which offer walking wilds plus an assortment of expanding wilds and multipliers.
The minimum bet for the game starts from as little as GBP £0.20, while the maximum bet for a single spin can go up to GBP £200 apiece.
Like most movie tie- ins, plenty of thought has been put into the design of game. A messy police station office forms the backdrop to the reels. The symbols for the game include lower value playing cards, the Naked Gun logo, a police siren, and four characters from the film. The most rewarding of these are the main character, Frank Drebin, which was played by Leslie Nielsen and Jane Spencer, which was played by Priscilla Presley. Both those symbols award up to 200 coins per pay line. The Naked Gun logo is the top standard payer, it rewards players 400 coins for a 5- symbol combo. There is also a wild, the police siren, which replaces all other symbols except the scatter and awards players up to 500 coins.
If a players land three or more wilds on a base game spin, they trigger the Roaming Wild feature. This awards players with re- spins and wilds that move around the reels. The re- spins continue until all of the wilds have disappeared from view.
Landing three or more detective badge scatters triggers the free spins round. There are four free spin features in the game.
The first of which is the Home Run Free Spins feature. This gives players 10 free spins. Any wilds that they land on turn into roaming wilds and move around the reels at random. This happens on each remaining free spin.
Second on the list is the Stake Out Free Spins feature. This also awards players with 10 free spins that complete with roaming wilds. If anyone lands on two roaming wilds at the same position, they get a multiplier boost that rewards them between 2 and 5 times their original bet.
Next is the On The Edge Free Spins feature. Again the basic offering is 10 free spins with roaming wilds. If a player lands on two wilds on the same spot, it turns the whole of that reel wild.
Last but not least is the Crime Scene Free Spins feature. This also awards ten free spins and if two roaming wilds land on the same position during one of these free spins, they expand to fill the reel and offer a multiplier boost. This can offers pay outs of 2 to 5 times the initial bet.
The Naked Gun is also part of the Jackpot King network of slots, so, it offers players a chance to win a bumper progressive jackpot too.
Just like the film, the slot version of The Naked Gun has a slapstick feel to it. The slot version is, however, a classy adaptation suitable for both the fans and others alike.
