The new slot title has been scheduled to be released later in the year.
The Phantom of the Opera – The Musical
This stage musical, The Phantom of the Opera, is one of the most renowned productions of all time. The show, which opened in London's West End in 1986 and in New York City’s Broadway in 1988, features music by English composer – Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by British lyricists, Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. The book by the same name, which was also authored by Webber is based on a French novel that features the same central plot as the musical.
Now in its 31st year, the show has become the second longest running West End musical and third longest running West End show. The critically acclaimed play has won 70 major theatre awards till date. The musical has been running around the world in 35 countries, 166 cities, to over 140 million people. The total worldwide gross revenue for the show till now has been estimated at USD 6 billion. It still continues to run regularly in London and New York.
The Phantom of the Opera – The Movie
The film adaptation of the musical was also produced and co- written by Webber. After the initial success of the play, in 1989, the Hollywood project was announced. However, due to unrelated reasons, production did not start till 2002. The movie was finally released in 2004, starring Gerald Butler in the lead role, along with many other famous names. The film also featured popular musical arrangements from the theatre version. This included songs such as “The Phantom of the Opera”, “The Music of the Night” and “All I Ask of You.” The movie ran in cinemas all across the globe and collectively grossed more than USD 154 million in profits.
The Phantom of the Opera Slot Machine
After the book, the musical and the play, we now have the slot game to look forward to. It is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year by. It will feature some original footage from the best- selling film adaptation of the 1986 musical, characters from the movie, along with a number of the musical tracks that made both the theatre and cinema versions famous around the world. It has been said that original footage from the film will even be incorporated into the game. With this, the developer aims to establish a more solid connection between the fans of the film and the new game, once they have discovered it.
Besides movie buffs, fans of the French novel, Le Fantôme de l'Opéra, which literally translates to The Phantom of the Opera, the English title of the book, will soon be able to enjoy the iconic opera- themed plot unfold in front of their eyes in the form of an online slot game. The main plot of the story revolves around a beautiful soprano, Christine Daaé, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius living in the subterranean labyrinth beneath the Palais Garnier.
